Der Himmel auf Erden (1927)

Reinhold Schünzel plays the strict and moralistic Traugott Bellmann, who publicly denounces the decadent nightlife. Although Bellmann's views are backed by his wife, they are vehemently opposed by his champagne-manufacturing father-in-law. When Bellmann inherits 500,000 marks and the notorious nightclub "Der Himmel auf Erden" ("Heaven on Earth") from his deceased brother, he finds himself in a difficult situation. In order to fulfill his brother's will and claim the money, Bellmann is required to be at the club every night at 9 pm.
