Roman Holiday (1953)

Romantic comedy about a young princess who escapes from the pomp and ceremony of her surroundings for 24 hours and enjoys a brief romance with American journalist Gregory Peck.

A slight, charming little fairy-tale story with a few possible topical allusions about a European princess who for a few hours in Rome escapes her gilded cage and finds fun, romance and just a little heartbreak with American newspaperman Gregory Peck. Photographed entirely on the spot—in Rome. As the Princess Audrey Hepburn gives one of the loveliest performances of the year — it won her an "Oscar". 1
