Absolute Quiet (1936)

Businessman Gerald Axton retreats to his ranch for some much-needed rest after nearly suffering a heart attack from the stresses of his business. However, his respite is anything but tranquil. Accompanied by his female assistant, who stirs emotions within him as tumultuous as his professional concerns, Axton's solitude is interrupted by the arrival of a pair of escaped criminals. Their intrusion is soon compounded by the unexpected crash landing of a plane carrying a motley crew of passengers. Among them are the state's governor, with whom Axton has clashed, his former lover and her new partner, whom Axton has been attempting to deceive, and a journalist eager to expose every scandalous detail.
