A girl growing up on a tropical island loses her parents to a voodoo ritual, but survives and flees the island with a curse on her. Years later, as an adult, she feels compelled to return to the island to confront her past. She brings her husband, daughter, and nanny with her, but upon returning, she is revered by the locals as a voodoo goddess. This leads her to a spiral of madness with tragic consequences for her loved ones.
