Death on the Diamond (1934)

Pop Clark is on the brink of losing his baseball team unless they can win the pennant and pay off their debts. In an effort to secure victory, he hires ace player Larry Evans. Not only are rival teams a threat, but mobsters are also trying to sabotage the team's success. As the pennant race nears its conclusion, Pop's key players start to be murdered, both on and off the field. Larry must navigate the challenges of winning enough games, romancing Pop's daughter, and stopping the murderer before more players are killed.
