Fugitives (1929)

Nightclub singer Alice Carroll is discovered in the office of club owner Al Barrow, who is dead on the floor. Alice had been heard threatening to kill Barrow rather than submit to his advances. She claims she is innocent, but the District Attorney doesn't believe her and charges her with Barrow's murder. However, the situation is not as straightforward as the D.A. thinks it to be.
