I'll Love You Always (1935)

Actress Nora Clegg marries Carl Brent, an unemployed young engineer whose self-assessment hinders his job search. He eventually lands a position that requires him to go to Russia for a while, while Nora returns to the stage in his absence. However, he loses the job at the last minute and, instead of telling Nora of his failure, he steals money from his prospective employer to buy gifts for her and have a good time before pretending to leave for Russia. He ends up in jail instead and hides the truth from Nora by having a friend mail letters from Russia. He later learns that Nora is pregnant.
