Poor Little Peppina (1916)
A young girl is kidnapped by the Mafia as revenge for her father's role in capturing one of their members. Her family believes she is dead, but in reality, she is taken to Italy and raised by a kind couple. When she is betrothed to a cruel man, she disguises herself as a boy and runs away to America. However, she finds herself again in the hands of the mobster who kidnapped her originally. This time, with luck and her own courage, she is able to turn the tables.
