Paleontologist Grant, his colleague Ellie, a mathematical genius named Malcolm, and a corporate lawyer, travel to Isla Nublar, off the coast of Costa Rica, at the invitation of an enthusiastic and eccentric businessman, John Hammond. He wants to showcase his revolutionary theme park, which features dinosaurs, whose DNA was extracted from blood found in mosquitoes that had been preserved in amber for 65 million years.
