Heideschulmeister Uwe Karsten (1954)

Ursula Diewen, the daughter of a deceased merchant, was set to marry Heinrich Heinsius. On the wedding day, Ursula's friend Martha Detleffson reveals to her that Heinrich is the father of her illegitimate child. Devastated by the news, Ursula calls off the wedding and retreats to a rural estate. Tragically, Heinrich takes his own life. During her time at the estate, Ursula meets a young schoolteacher named Uwe Alsiev and the two find that they have much in common. Later, Martha arrives and reaches an agreement with Ursula to have the child boarded at the home of a nearby pastor. However, rumors soon spread throughout the village that the child is actually Uwe's.
