The film follows Johnny as he assembles a team of specialists to help him pull off the heist, including a sharpshooter (Elisha Cook Jr.), a getaway driver (Ted de Corsia), and a corrupt cop (Coleen Gray).

As the team prepares for the robbery, the film follows various subplots and characters, including a veteran prizefighter (Kola Kwariani) who is being manipulated by his manager (Jay C. Flippen), and a racing tout (Vince Edwards) who becomes involved with a troubled woman (Marie Windsor). As the heist approaches, tensions rise and the characters' loyalties are tested, leading to a series of twists and turns that ultimately lead to a bloody and climactic finale.
