Forbidden Planet (1956)

Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, Leslie Nielsen - Forbidden Planet

In the early 23rd century, during the colonization of deep space, settlers on Altair IV who had relocated there 20 years earlier fail to respond to inquiries from the Federation of United Planets regarding their well-being. As a result, a Cruiser C57-D, captained by Commander J. J. Adams is sent to rescue any survivors. They find only two: Dr. Morbius and his daughter Altaira, who live in a magical landscape with their benevolent robot, Robby. All the other settlers have been killed by an invisible force that also wiped out the advanced Krell civilization 200,000 years earlier. As the commander falls in love with Altaira, the unseen and long dormant evil begins to rise again.
