Innocents of Paris (1929)

Maurice, a modest Parisian scrap dealer who sells some of his goods at the Flea Market, rescues a young boy from drowning. The child's aunt, Louise, is greatly appreciative and develops feelings for Maurice, but the boy's grandfather holds a deep disdain for him. An opportunity arises for Maurice to sing in a prestigious performance and launch a career in the theater, but Louise opposes this idea. Eventually, Maurice must make a decision between following his dreams and pursuing a relationship with Louise.
