Beat the Devil (1953)

Director John Huston on top form with a crook film with considerable comedy attachments. Filmed largely on location in Italy, it's the story of an assorted group of characters, all more or less immoral, who are all unscrupulously after the ownership of uranium-bearing land in Africa, and all prepared to slit anybody else's throat to get it! Brilliant direction, polished production and neat performances from Humphrey Bogart, Gina Lollobrigida, Robert Morley, Peter Lorre, Jennifer Jones. 1
