Pat Pemberton is a physical education instructor at a small California college. Whenever the college competes, her fiancé, Collier Weld, the college's administrative assistant, causes her stress. During a national golf tournament, sports promoter Mike Conovan tries to bribe her to lose, but Pat refuses. Later, she teams up with Mike to go on a tour of golf and tennis games. Things are going well until Collier Weld reappears and starts to affect Pat's performance. But when Collier sees Pat and Mike in what appears to be a compromising situation, he finally breaks off the relationship. Pat finally realizes that she is happy without Collier. The future looks bright for Pat and Mike.
