Anam (2001)
Anam, a 40-year-old traditional Turkish wife and mother, lives with her family in a German city. She works as a cleaner and has befriended man-crazy German Rita and superstitious African Didi. When she discovers that her son Deniz has become involved in drugs and her husband is having an affair, her world falls apart. Despite her desperation, she is determined to save her son and begins her search. She finds Deniz's girlfriend, Mandy, who is also a drug addict and decides to care for her. Anam is thrown into an unfamiliar world and when she finally finds Deniz with the cold-blooded dealer Hassain, he refuses her help. After Mandy's death trying to reconcile mother and son, Anam becomes more determined than ever to get Deniz out of the dangerous situation, even if it means putting her own life on the line.
