The Sound Barrier (1952)

Wealthy aircraft manufacturer John Ridgefield is determined to build the finest jet planes in the world. His problem is the sound barrier, which has yet to be broken. Ridgefield's daughter Susan condemns his aims as mere ruthlessness and becomes increasingly bitter towards her father after her brother Christopher is killed while flying. Then her husband Tony becomes Ridgefield's chief test pilot.
