The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961)





Reporter Bill Maguire is sent by his London newspaper to cover an unusual event. The United States and Russia have accidentally detonated atomic bombs at the same time, and as Maguire investigates, he discovers that the authorities are keeping secret the fact that the Earth has shifted twelve degrees in orbit and is rapidly moving closer to the sun.
