I Am Suzanne (1933)

Tony Malatini, a puppet performer at the Parisian Theatre des Marionettes, is struggling to draw an audience. He visits a rival theater and becomes entranced by their popular dancer, Suzanne. Tony asks her if he can make a puppet of her for his show, but this leads to a confrontation with Suzanne's controlling manager, the Baron. To avoid being set free, Suzanne agrees to marry the Baron. When Tony tries to intervene, Suzanne has an accident during a performance and is unable to dance again. However, with Tony's help, she learns how to be a puppeteer and together they put on a successful puppet show. During the celebration, Tony decides to propose marriage to Suzanne using one of his puppets, but this causes confusion and jealousy for her.
