Planet of the Apes (1968)

An Earth spaceship traveling at the speed of light crash-lands on an unknown planet. The astronauts, who have been in deep sleep, wake up to find that it's the year 3978 AD. While exploring a forest, they are attacked by gorillas on horseback. George Taylor, one of the few survivors, is taken prisoner and brought to Ape City, where apes are highly developed and humans are considered a lower form of primate. Zira and Cornelius, who recognize that Taylor is intelligent, help him and a human woman escape from Dr. Zaius. They go on many dangerous adventures and eventually Taylor goes into the Forbidden Zone, where he finds out his true destiny.
