The Promise (1979)
Michael, a budding architetct, has, much to his mother's displeasure, fallen in love with a young art student named Nancy. Against Michael's mother's wishes, a wedding is arranged but on the way to the ceremony, Nancy's car crashes. Michael's mother offers Nancy expensive plastic surgery on condition that she never sees Michael again. When Michael, who has been in a coma since the crash, recovers he is told that nancy is dead.
