Gaslight (1944)
Handsome Charles Boyer, cast against type as a ruthless murderer, marries his victim's niece (Ingrid Bergman) and then tries to gain her inheritance by driving her slowly insane. Set mainly within the confines of an old Victorian house and based on the psychological stage melodrama by Patrick Hamilton. 1
