After being asked to leave the convent where she is studying, Céline van Hadewijch, an aspiring nun, returns to her parents' house in Paris. While there, she reunites with her estranged Muslim friend, Yassine Chikh, and they spend time together at a local café. Céline confides in Yassine that she can only be friends with him as she is devoted to God and plans to remain chaste, as her body belongs to God. Yassine introduces Céline to his elder brother and religious leader, Nassir Chikh, who invites her to attend his religious seminars. Unbeknownst to Céline, Nassir is a terrorist and sees her as the perfect tool for his extremist agenda, taking advantage of her confusion and vulnerability.
