Woman of the Year (1942)

Sam Craig, a sportswriter for a New York newspaper, takes offense to comments made by Tess Harding, who writes an international column for the same newspaper. The two begin a feud through their columns. However, when they meet in person, Sam becomes attracted to Tess, and after a courtship, they get married. But their marriage reveals that they have significant differences. When Tess is voted the "Outstanding Woman of the Year," Sam leaves her and gets drunk. Tess writes his column for him, and although it makes him the subject of ridicule in the sports world, it ultimately brings them back together.
