The supposed deceased outlaw leader, "Draw" Egan, unexpectedly arrives in Yellow Dog and is mistaken for William Blake, a reputable and lawful individual. The town appoints him as sheriff to eliminate the troublemaking elements that have almost taken over. He efficiently carries out this task, earning the respect and trust of the community as a lawful member of society. However, when one of Egan's former associates, Arizona Joe, arrives in Yellow Dog, he threatens to reveal Egan's past unless he assists him in taking control of the town.
