Wild Orchids (1929)

John Sterling (Lewis Stone) takes his young wife Lillie (Greta Garbo) with him when he travels to the Orient to inspect plantations. On the ship, they meet Prince De Gace (Nils Asther), a Javanese man who becomes interested in Lillie. When they arrive at their destination, the Prince invites the couple to his palace and entertains them. While Sterling is busy with his work, the lonely Lillie succumbs to the Prince's advances. Sterling sees them together and later finds Lillie's necklace on the couch where she and the Prince were intimate. When the three go on a tiger hunt, Lillie finds her necklace in Sterling's coat and realizes that he knows the truth. The two men go off to hunt the tiger, and Lillie becomes worried that something might happen to them. The Prince discovers that his rifle is not loaded and is attacked by a tiger. Sterling kills the tiger, but the Prince is severely injured. Later, Sterling tells the Prince that he will give Lillie a divorce so that she can be happy. As Sterling prepares to leave for home, he finds Lillie waiting for him. She tells him that she loves him and they reconcile.
