Minority Report (2002)

In 2054 America, the government employs PreCrime, a private commercial venture, for national police work. Lamar Burgess, a genius, has developed a system that uses three psychics, the "precogs," to predict crimes before they occur. Police agents like John Anderton rush to the scene and arrest the criminal before any violence takes place. Anderton has a personal motivation for being involved in this process, as his son was abducted from a public swimming pool years ago. He wants to prevent such a tragedy from happening to any other parent. However, a psychic predicts that Anderton will commit murder against a man he has never heard of. Believing he is being framed, he goes on the run, but soon realizes that by trying to avoid his fate, he may be ensuring that it happens.
