Betty Griffon and Harry Lindsey plan to marry, but the wedding is delayed when Betty's brother Dick is injured in an accident. Betty insists on staying to care for him, causing Harry to become upset and insensitive. Betty demands a divorce, and Harry obliges by hiring his friend Tom Robinson to serve as a corespondent in the case. The divorce is granted, but Betty and Harry eventually realize their love for each other and want to remarry. However, New York law prevents Harry from marrying again due to the divorce papers. They find a way around this by getting legally married in New Jersey, and they live happily ever after.
