Abschiedswalzer (1934)

In 1831 Warsaw, Frédéric Chopin, a young music student, falls in love with singer Constantia. When his professor discovers that Polish revolutionaries want Chopin to join their uprising, he and Constantia devise a scheme to keep him away from the revolution by pretending that she no longer loves him, leading Chopin to accept an invitation to perform in Paris. In Paris, he meets renowned writer George Sand and falls in love with her, leading to his breakthrough as a composer and instant fame. While Constantia may have lost Chopin, the music world has gained him.
