The Big Hop (1928)
Buck Jones makes a very pleasing impression in this, his first independent picture. We almost agree that he did well to produce his own, as this compares most favorably with his former pictures. The theme — an airplane race across the Pacific ocean — is yet not enough to guarantee thrills; and the charming Buck's leading woman, Jobyna Ralston, has never been so apparent. This, combined with peppy work of the supporting cast, insure an evening's entertainment.
