Broken Silence (1995)
Fried Adelphi, a Carthusian monk devoted to silence and meditation for 25 years, recounts his story to a priest (played by Michael Moriarty). His order sends him to Indonesia to renew their cloister's lease. But on the flight to Jakarta, he experiences anxiety and disembarks in New Delhi, India. With no connections or worldly experience, he's lucky to meet fellow passenger Ashaela, a thief who took his wallet. Unaware of her crime, Fried lets Ashaela guide him to Jakarta.
