Hogan and Boyle, a pair of unlikely private eyes - one a 3 ft dwarf - in Forties' America, are hired by Susan Lakely to find her boyfriend, Michael Tarlow, who has been missing for four days. Secretly Tarlow is an assassin for a syndicate and has absconded with 'company' funds.
