London-based American insurance executive Steve Blackburn meets and falls in love with divorcee dress-designer Vicki Allessio. Together they travel to Marbella, Spain, he leaving his wife and children behind, she leaving her two children, cat, dog and bird. There follows a time in Marbella which is only partially idyllic, punctuated by alternate quarrels and loving.
