Gösta Berlings saga (1924)
Gösta Berling (Lars Hanson) is a minister who is forced to leave his position in the church due to his excessive drinking. He becomes involved with high society and the women who are a part of it. He meets Countess Dohna (Greta Garbo) and falls in love with her, seeing in her a depth of character that he has not found in other women. With her help, he is able to turn his life around and redeem himself.
