Sunnyside (1919)

Sunnyside

Charlie works on a farm from early in the morning until late at night, and often eats his meals quickly while working. He has feelings for his neighbor's daughter, Edna, but her father does not approve of him. One day, he falls off a cow while riding in a stream and loses consciousness. In his dream, he sees a dance performed by nymphs. When he wakes up, he finds that a city dweller has been injured in a car accident and is being cared for by Edna. Charlie tries to impress her by acting like the city dweller, but is rejected. The ending of the story is open to interpretation, as some critics argue that the final scene is real and others believe it is still part of Charlie's dream.
