Hamburg: while marketing forged paintings, Tom Ripley meets Jonathan Zimmerman, a picture framer, innocently involved in the deal, and a man who may only have a short time to live. Approached by a Frenchman anxious to find a non-professional assassin to carry out a highly-paid killing, Ripley suggests Jonathan.
