Padmé Amidala now serves as a senator representing her planet. She is determined to do everything in her power to keep the fragile Galactic Republic together as it faces challenges from Count Dooku, who has left his role as a Jedi to lead a separatist movement. When Amidala speaks out against the impending chaos, an assassin attempts to silence her. The Jedi assign young Anakin Skywalker, mentored by Obi-Wan, to be her bodyguard. As their world is on the brink of being engulfed in the Clone Wars, Amidala falls into a romantic relationship with the young man.
