Een koninkrijk voor een huis (1949)
Post-World War II, Amsterdam faces a housing shortage. Heintje Davids, a market vendor, hears from her sister about available rooms in the Van Laar residence on Apollolaan. While the homeowner is entertained by Heintje, his wife disapproves. However, their son takes a liking to Heintje's daughter Daisy, despite opposition from their parents.
