Escape from New York (1981)
The crime in Manhattan has become so severe that officials have given up trying to control it. A wall has been built around the city, manned by military police, and the government has started to send the most dangerous convicts into the city. No one who enters the city is ever allowed to leave. However, when a plane carrying the president crashes into the city, a rescue mission is organized by Hauk, a ruthless official. He offers super-convict Snake Plissken a deal: if he can retrieve the president and his important briefcase within 24 hours, he will be set free, but if he fails, he will be killed by remote control.
