Das große Spiel (1942)
A member of a soccer team, where the synergy among players is seamless, has been sidelined from a championship tournament due to illness, posing a significant dilemma: who can seamlessly step into his role? Werner Fehling emerges as the ideal substitute for the ailing player. However, a complication arises – he happens to be a bitter rival of the goalkeeper, Jupp Jaeger. Both men vie for the affection of the same woman, Grete Gabler. Grete, being the daughter of a prominent figure in the sports club, feels doubly obligated not to disrupt the team's success.
