Trevor Howard (1913-1988) was an English actor who appeared in a number of films, television shows, and stage productions over the course of his career. He was born in Cliftonville, Kent, England, and began his acting career in the theater before transitioning to film. Howard is perhaps best known for his roles in the films "Brief Encounter" (1945) and "Ryan's Daughter" (1970), and he received numerous awards and accolades for his performances, including a BAFTA Award for Best actor for his role in "Ryan's Daughter." He appeared in over 100 films throughout his career, and was considered one of the leading actors of his generation. Howard died in 1988 at the age of 74.
