Fernando Lamas was an Argentine-American actor and director. He was born Fernando Álvarez de Lamas y de Santos on January 9, 1915, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Lamas began his career as a stage actor in Argentina before moving to Hollywood in the 1940s.
In Hollywood, Lamas found success as a leading man in films and on television. He appeared in a number of films, including The Merry Widow (1952), Dangerous When Wet (1953), and Sangaree (1953). He also had a successful television career, appearing in shows such as "The Love Boat" and "Fantasy Island."
Lamas was known for his suave and debonair persona, and he was often cast in romantic lead roles. He was married five times, including to actress Arlene Dahl, with whom he had a son, actor Lorenzo Lamas.
