Lee Van Cleef was an American actor best known for his roles in Western films, particularly his work in the spaghetti Western genre. He was born in Somerville, New Jersey in 1925, and began his acting career in the 1950s with a number of small roles in films and television shows. Van Cleef's breakthrough roles came in the 1960s when he starred in For a Few Dollars More (1965) and as the menacing villain "Angel Eyes" in the classic Western film "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly." He went on to have a successful career in both Westerns and action films, and is remembered for his distinctive voice and piercing gaze. In addition to his film work, Van Cleef also appeared in a number of television shows. He passed away in 1989 at the age of 64.
