Loretta Young was an American actress who appeared in many films during the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1913 and began her career in Hollywood at the age of four, when she appeared in a film called The Primrose Ring. Young went on to appear in many silent films as a child actress, and made the transition to sound films as an adult in the 1930s.

Young appeared in a wide range of films, including comedies, dramas, and musicals, and was able to play a variety of different characters. Young was also known for her fashion sense and was often featured in magazines and on the cover of movie posters.

In addition to her film work, Young was also involved in charitable causes and was known for her generosity and kindness. She was active in organizations that supported children, and was involved in efforts to help those in need during World War II.

Young was nominated for several awards throughout her career, including an Academy Award for Best Actress. She won the award in 1947 for her role in the film The Farmer's Daughter. Young continued to act in films throughout the 1950s and 1960s, and also appeared on television in later years. She died in 2000 at the age of 87.
