The Last Man on Earth (1964)
Set in 1968, Dr. Morgan is the only survivor in his city, and possibly the last remaining human on Earth. He has witnessed the near extinction of humanity due to a plague that transforms victims into the living dead, a combination of zombies and vampires. His mission is to kill them by staking them through the heart. However, he then meets Ruth, who is not human or vampire, but instead a member of the New People, who have been infected by the disease but have not fully succumbed to it. Morgan must decide if he can coexist with this new form of life or if they are the enemy of humankind.
