Betty Hutton (born Elizabeth June Thornburg) was an American actress, singer, and dancer who was active in the entertainment industry from the 1930s through the 1950s. She was born in 1921 in Battle Creek, Michigan and began her career as a dancer and chorus girl in New York City. Hutton's big break came in the 1940s when she was cast in the lead role of the Broadway musical "Annie Get Your Gun," which launched her to stardom.

Hutton was known for her energetic and vivacious stage presence, and her strong, versatile singing voice. She had a string of successful films in the 1940s and 1950s, including "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek," "The Stork Club," and "The Perils of Pauline." Hutton was also a popular recording artist and released a number of hit songs, including "Murder, He Says," "Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief," and "Rumble, Rumble, Rumble."

Despite her success, Hutton struggled with personal problems and financial difficulties later in life, and she largely retired from the entertainment industry in the late 1950s. She passed away in 2007 at the age of 86.
