Die Koffer des Herrn O.F. (1931)

In the quaint town of Ostend, 13 suitcases arrive at the hotel with a note from O.F., who needs 6 rooms. Although the hotel only has five, the arrival of O.F. causes a small wave of modernization in the town. Journalists Stix and architect Stark take advantage of the event by spreading the rumor that O.F. is a former citizen who became a millionaire abroad and wants to modernize the town with better hotels, nightclubs, and shops. As a result, Ostend becomes a boomtown and Stix and Stark both find love and success. However, O.F. never shows up and the town eventually forgets about the mysterious figure as they prosper.
