The New York Idea (1920)

Alice Brady, Lowell Sherman - The New York Idea

Cynthia and John Karslake are a wealthy couple who constantly bicker and hide their love for each other. Cynthia becomes jealous when she sees John flirting with Vida Phillimore, a recent divorcee, at the races. Using this incident to fuel her other grievances, Cynthia files for divorce, which is presided over by Vida's ex-husband, Judge Phillip Phillimore. The judge grants Cynthia a quiet divorce and becomes interested in marrying her himself. As rumors circulate about John and Vida, Cynthia accepts the judge's proposal. The foursome continues to socialize, but as the wedding approaches, Cynthia realizes that she still loves John. After postponing the wedding multiple times, Cynthia reunites with John, and they finally understand the true meaning of love.
