The Bed Sitting Room (1969)
In a post-apocalyptic England, a group of eccentric individuals attempt to carry on with their lives amidst the devastation of nuclear war. They roam the desolate land filled with ash, broken objects, and bizarre items such as dentures and boots while singing "God Save Mrs. Ethel Shroake, Long Live Mrs. Ethel Shroake." The police constantly remind them to keep moving, and strange mutations like turning into a parrot or furniture occur. The story focuses on the unusual romance between a girl living in a compartment of a London Underground train, her parents, the commuter in the adjacent compartment, and a doctor they encounter after returning above ground in search of a nurse for the girl's impending childbirth.
