Phyllis Haver was an American actress who appeared in films during the silent era and the early sound period. She was known for her roles in films such as Chicago (1927), The Battle of the Sexes (1928), and Thunder (1929). She appeared in over 100 films during her career, which spanned from the 1910s to the early 1930s. Haver was also known for her roles in a number of popular comedies of the time, including several films for the Mack Sennett Studios and The Balloonatic with Buster Keaton. She retired from acting after just two sound films in the 1930s, and died in 1960 at the age of 61 from an overdose of barbiturates.
